Vicara

Vicara was born in 1992 from the union of three historic families—the Visconti, Cassinis, and Ravizza—whose experience and passion have deep roots stretching back centuries in Monferrato. The company stands out for its commitment to recovering and enhancing traditional native grape varieties, such as Grignolino, alongside a strong focus on environmental sustainability and territorial authenticity. Nestled on the hills of Rosignano Monferrato, Vicara cultivates 33 hectares of vineyards across complex, diverse soils that impart great elegance, complexity, and minerality to its wines. Artisanal production and meticulous care in every detail reflect a dedication to preserving the area’s historic and cultural identity. Today, Giuseppe and Emanuele Visconti lead Vicara, safeguarding a heritage that blends family history with the courage to explore new paths. Vicara is rooted in Monferrato, a unique territory shaped by time and man, where each hill tells a story of ancient, complex soils. The company works across three distinct geological areas: Bricco Uccelletta, with its over 27.5-million-year-old Vigna Uccelletta soil lending elegance and balance; Crosia, rich in four geological formations and source of Cantico della Crosia, offering structure and minerality; and Vadmon, delivering intense aromas and pronounced minerality. Vicara serves as a bridge between past and future, dedicated to rediscovering and valorising Monferrato’s territorial, varietal, and cultural heritage. It produces unique wines with respect and rigour, marked by strong identity. For Vicara, wine is a story—a journey through time and passion spanning generations, a way to share the beauty and love handed down over centuries.
