Indicazione Geografica Tipica
Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
The nose is unique in that it is first marked by non-fruits of toasted sage, roasted fennel seeds, dried rosemary, rhubarb, and rose potpourri, which are then complimented by secondary notes of dried red cherry, dried red plum, and dried blackberry. On the palate, the fruit does come to the fore, and is sweeter than suggested by the nose. Very ripe boysenberry, pomegranate liqueur, blackberry liqueur and candied black cherry saturate the palate, with the non-fruits playing a supporting role. The tannin, alcohol and acidity are all medium +, showing classic Tuscan character, and the finish is driven by dry stone minerality.
